Listening to You
In our initial consultation, we will first and foremost listen to your ideas. Maybe you are looking for a simple update, keeping the old color scheme, or are aiming to reinvent the room completely. We have a good aesthetic sense for understanding the varying styles. Most people nowadays aim to modernize their space with a bright and sleek contemporary style. But we have many clients who want to maintain the old style of their home, such as with Victorian or Gothic architecture. We can help you envision what the finished outcome will look like, and discuss complimentary colors, based on floors, ceiling, and trim. We can help you identify the exact hue, tint, tone, and shade, and will educate you on the different types of paint.

Preparation
For any paint job, indoors or outdoors, it is essential to put the proper time into doing the proper preparation beforehand. This includes scraping off peeling paint, sanding, and washing. Sometimes there is some minor carpentry work that is needed, especially around windows. We are able to do that prep work and caulk any holes to seal and protect from any water damage or pest intrusion. On interior walls, sometimes plastering is needed to smooth out any dents or imperfections.
Prior to painting, we will cover the floor and furniture with a drop cloth, and use painter’s tape to assure perfect edges all around the baseboards, windows, and crown molding. Before painting, most jobs call for a coat or two of primer to prevent the old color from altering the new color.
​Quality Paint
We use use the highest quality paint supplies to help ensure superior color clarity, consistency, workability, and smoothness. Beyond the color, we can go into detail describing the different types of water and oil-based paints and the advantages of each. Common paint types are flat (matte finish), satin (eggshell finish), semi-gloss, and gloss. Some are more shiny, lustrous, long-lasting, mildew resistant, better for minimizing heat loss, etc.
